Music Video Filming: Actually Filming

We just had our thanksgiving break which meant we had another opportunity to film for our music video. Unlike last weekend we actually were able to film this time. We planned to film on November 29th and that’s what needed up happening. My group members Brooke and Madeline came to my place around noon. From the second they got there we started filming. The first setting that we filmed at was my room. Our first scene shot was my waking up and checking the alarm clock. This is because it goes in like with the lyrics of the song. This was difficult for me in the beginning because I kept laughing since I normally don’t have to act. This one scene took nearly 30 minutes, but after that it was a smooth process.
Our next set of scenes involved me opening the house door and then the car door. This time around it was simpler for me since I didn’t feel awkward being filmed anymore. This only took a couple of minutes seeing that they were pretty simple shots. Throughout our filming I made sure to remind my group mates to use certain shots that we need to use. I was very relaxed for the rest of the filming but my group members overthought the process a lot. I kept reminding them that it’s a music video and that we’re supposed to be having fun with it. With my dad’s permission, we filmed a couple scenes in his card. I was filmed enter the car and later on exiting the car. Both scenes take place at different times but we wanted to film everything we need in the car at that one time. This only took about 20 minutes and my group and I moved onto our next and final location.
We then ordered an uber and went to a park near my house. Since I was sitting in the passengers seat, I filmed some exterior shots of the traffic that we may use in the music video. Once we got to the park we dived straight in to finish filming. We filmed everything in the order that it came into our minds at the park. We also filmed a bunch of extra scenes incase we may not like our original scenes. For a small portion of scenes all three of us were filmed, so our friend Paige helped us out with those scenes. One of those scenes involved us just chilling and singing the lyrics. I was then filmed singing the lyrics separately since I was considered the main character. We finished the rest of our shots and that was the end of our filming process. Overall, it was different being filmed instead of being the filmed but it was enjoyable and we got the results we wanted.
